They have been able to make 1500ft (450m) long for decades so it isn't really a special order. We do have to special order the 3000ft (700m) rope for El Capitan though, and that the core is a single run (not spliced), but the sheath is.

I've not heard of Puits des Pirates, but now I want to go! I have not caved in France...yet :)
