I think "engagement" as one dominant metric of how good social platform A is over platform B is overrated. I prefer, how good is my timeline? Do I enjoy the scroll? Am I seeing things *I* want to engage with? Am I saving/bookmarking things? Following links out? Boosting stuff I want others to see?
"Engagement" (on something I post), is a short-lived high, and not a reliable way to enjoy a social network in my experience. Build a good feed though and it'll almost always be enjoyable 👍
