So many people who championed open standards are very very angry that a big company is starting to use them. I'm not a huge fan of Meta in general, but Mosseri seems to be legit in his push to make Threads a part of the fediverse. Some people I chat with assume this must be a secret plan to crush the fediverse… but it just doesn't make sense to me. Threads is putting a lot of eng effort into this, and fedi really isn't all that big!",
