On iOS/macOS, by default (starting within the last year I think), making certain gestures during a videocall leads to special effects onscreen - confetti, a rainstorm, cartoon thumbs-up or thumbs-down, etc. In my experience, usually the speaker doesn't intend those supplementals and is as surprised by them as the viewer is.
