As far as I understand, the only aspects of the protocol that privileges secp256k1 to the exclusion of every alternative are the "pubkey" part of filters signature" part of events.
Finding someone's relays depends on how do you know them and if the client allows such alternative handle, Nip05 proves that. If Nostr wants to use Pkarr as handles, nothing will break any more than what breaks if you introduce Nip05 today.
Am I wrong?
