Ugandan athlete Jacob Kiplimo set a new half marathon world record in Barcelona, completing the race in 56:42 and becoming the first person to run the distance in under 57 minutes. The 24-year-old shattered the previous record by 48 seconds in ideal weather conditions and will make his marathon debut in London this April.
