Well, Freya is an alchemist. Any antagonist would know that chances are high that there is some bizarre, debilitating, mind-bending poison in the food. Even if she doesn't tamper with the food, she'd have a good time suggesting it by utilizing an evil smirk every time they'd take a bite or sip of anything.
