I don’t think that Apple Phones are insecure per se. Quite the contrary. According to the recently leaked documents you could see that newer iPhones (iPhone 12 and above iirc) weren’t even crackable by Celebrite if the iPhones were in BFU-mode (“Before First Unlock”). Same does apply to newer Pixel Phones btw. And as an iPhone user consider enabling Lockdown-Mode which hardens the phone against Pegasus attacks. Get used to restart your phone once a day (kicks things like Pegasus out). For this you can set an automation in the Shortcut App. But yes, I feel you. Our phones might already be pwned, but then again I ask myself: if this is the case, why all this SignalApp ban, e2ee ban, VPN ban attempts from several governments in the world, if they supposedly already see everything what we are doing on our phones? Makes no sense to me. But you cannot be 100% sure of course. If you can, turn off your phone and talk to the people in the meet space.
