Scathach (nprofile…5f97) I don't like it. In my opinion the garden of Eden story was the Jews mythopoetically rendering the transition of man from very limited tribes to civilisation, which came with a sudden influx of power and constant innovations alongside inequality and slavery and increased polygamy etc. The Jews created the most poignant myth about this because they understood civilisation the best and were victimised a lot. This resembles Daoism for example which also has a primitive serene before time in its mythology, and I'm sure it mirrors many other religions that I haven't studied as much. I see Christ as a Buddhaesque figure trying to redeem his people by teaching them how to find God through the religion and symbols they were culturally steeped in.
