You can use Mastodon's filters feature to customise what is visible on your timeline. Filters can either put stuff behind a warning which you can click open, or hide it completely:

As well as words and phrases you can also filter by emoji, which can be surprisingly useful! For example, if you wanted to hide all Wordle posts you can set a filter to hide posts containing the green square emoji 🟩
