Wow, okay. This was digestible enough to understand.
It took some time to wrap my head around bitcoin and its blockchain technology where each block of transactions is confirmed every 10 minutes. I’m guessing the lightning protocol is a much faster version where we don’t have to wait 10 minutes for confirmation, but works as a “layer 2 (?)” on top of the base layer which is the Bitcoin layer? Like a toll road (lightning) in comparison to the express way (Bitcoin). Correct?
