1. Fair enough. If it is discovered that plants are sentient in the future, does this mean that we have to stop consuming them?
2. That is true. But I don't see the logic in saying that animals ought to have rights, given that they are completely unable to grasp the concept of rights & will be unable to do so in the foreseeable future.
