I mean this was inevitable and I wouldn't even say it's Bluesky's fault — if you put something on the internet, or even increasingly if you don't, someone will find a way of harvesting it to use as data for their language model, or their demographic profiling system, or their hugely specific ad targeting platform, or their creepy stalking website. It's silly to expect every website to individually protect itself from that. The only solution that makes any sense is to legislate — or maybe more accurately to enforce the existing legislation. If we don't do it now, some horrible thing will happen and *then* we'll do it. Either way it will destroy large parts of the tech industry and nothing of value will be lost.
