Just heard someone argue that the real divide isn't between sciences and humanities, but between disciplines whose debates can make you feel uncomfortable (politics, literature) and ones that don't (physics, chemistry). Disciplines like psychology live in the boundary, and some things (biology, geology) have moved from one zone to another (debate over evolution and the age of the earth). Will now go off and muse about various sub-disciplines in computer science for a while…
