Copaganda has consistently been the most popular genre of TV for decades. Thus we have entire generations of people who have no idea how policing actually works in real life. Not until they have their own first hand experience which is NOTHING like TV, including/especially when they're a victim. Even then sometimes they choose to live with the cognitive dissonance.
