Backwards indeed! I recall I had to deal with Medallion Signature Guarantees where one has to sign a document in front of a financial institution employee (not simply a notary!) to avoid “fraud”. A signed message alternative would have accomplished the same outcome without all the charade 🤷🏼♂️
