Notifications on Mastodon can be customised so you only get notified for specific things. The options available depend on what you're using to access Mastodon:

- On your server's website, click slider button in top right of the Notifications column (note you can scroll this menu down for more options)

- On official apps click cog icon ⚙️ in top right of home timeline, then select Notifications

- On third party apps go to Settings/Preferences
