I've had a vague idea that we over-emphasize broad categories of sexual orientation and neglect other variations. So I keep running into assumptions that since I'm a heterosexual man, I have desires and behaviors identical to all other heterosexual men, and if I don't, it's some immaturity or trauma I should grow out of, or my feelings aren't really what I say they are.
It's exhausting.
Yes, I know it's much worse for many other people.
