Most people on #Mastodon seem to be interested in alternatives to the modern #worldwideweb so why aren’t any of you talking about or using things like #gemini_protocol? Gemini (not the Google AI crap) is an alternative to the #www spec. It’s feels so much like the early web. It doesn’t lend itself to commercial interests because it’s so bare bones and odd. Gemini would be a far more suitable place to put various types of tech documentation than on the Web. That’s just one use case. The dearth of even basic curiosity about it is baffling to me.
