This sounds very wise, but in reality it is just rationalising the status quo which is worse than decades ago when people could own their computers and run any binary they want on it.

It is even worse because the web could have been the universal platform where everything just runs, but it was deliberately sabotaged because app stores are how these platforms make money.

I am arguing we could have a world where you can install any app by merely visiting a URL, have proper security AND not compromise on capabilities.

PWA don't suck because they must, but because browsers were meant to be this limited on purpose.
