Meme Cocktail (Last Word)
2/3 fl. oz Tanqueray Ten Gin
2/3 fl. oz Chartreuse Verte
2/3 fl. oz Luxardo Maraschino
2/3 fl. oz fresh lime juice
Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into chilled glass. Normally the cherry wouldn't be drowned. As it is a meme cocktail I dumped it to create the red year in Bitcoin price history
You can order this classic in any decent Bar around the world. Ask the Bartender beforehand, if he knows the drink, you are in a good bar.
The drink was born in 1916 at the Detroit Athletes Club. Due to prohibition in Michigan the Last Word disappeared only two years after its creation. In 1951 the tipple crawled back in peoples minds and made its start in the "Bottoms Up" book by Ted Saucier
Another half century later the bartender of the ZigZag Cafe in Seattle, Murray Stenson studied the "Bottoms Up" book and made the drink a winner at the bar.
