I'm not sure. I have a sneaking suspicion that others didn't trust Crawford, he felt slighted for not being invited to the parties he felt entitled to attend.

I also suspect he was pissed off that both major parties commingled at these events, and were openly friendly to each other.

I don't think he was appalled by parties with hookers and blow.
