There was no eclipse, no visible occultation of the Sun/Helios presenting that visible effect at my location.
I'm in the prime effect/viewing area in the Arizona Mojave High Desert. According to TimeAndDate.com the maximum was at Oct 14 at 10:59:32 am. Clear sky, nice day.
My beloved and I were looking and taking video before and after max. It roughly appeared as the same sun as any other day. In fact, the solar panels went into max mode around that time.
