#OnThisDay, 6 July 2009, Jadranka Kosor becomes the first woman to be prime minister of Croatia. She worked to tackle government corruption, and successfully negotiated for Croatia to join the EU.

Initially deeply conservative, she became more liberal and changed her views on same-sex marriage.

In 2023 she made the semi-final of Croatia’s Masked Singer.
