Bought an inexpensive bore scope to check the threads before installing a new spark plug and coil pack. Minus a little bit of debris, the threads looked alright, however...
The spark plug (and the second one I bought just to be sure) slides in and out without catching a thread. I think this engine already had a helicoil or TimeSert in this cylinder head.
Gonna get on the phone with TimeSert today and order an insert to start with, hoping that I can just screw in a $7 part and be done.
