Fuel demand for international shipping ('bunkers') is not included in the national CO2 emissions and neither in the calculation of the percentage of renewables of a country.
For the EU27 (often 'forgotten') fuel demand for international shipping equals 4,5% of the entire final energy consumption.
For the Netherlands and Belgium, this percentage is about 25%. For the island of Malta it is even 300%.
