I love Mastodon; just wish ~3X as many folks in my world were active here. It's a real pain going to Twitter & Threads to cross-post (especially Threads given it's mobile-only and I prefer to do social on bigger screens).

But, marketing on behalf of Mastodon is weird. I'm shocked how many say "I tried it but couldn't figure out the signup process," and even when I tell them it's easier now, they shrug and reply that "it's not worth it." This mentality is pervasive, but completely foreign to me.
