I could accept the argument that GP doesn’t order basic diagnostics because they’re prevented by NHS budgeting rules. Especially if the GP told me about it, I would be the first to go and talk about in in public - and it would certainly impact my voting choices. But never do. They always speak from position of authority and with full confidence.

I don’t buy the argument that lack of funding somehow results in these two things I’ve described:

receptionist obviously lying to the patient about test results that have been already performed and paid
GP opportunistically dumping the patient with the easiest possible excuse (I can’t really call it “diagnosis”) while speaking from the position of authority
NHS GP, NHS hospitals but also private doctors notoriously refusing to share with patients the actual results of the tests that have been already performed and paid
