I used to be in favor of anarchism.

Life taught me that a minimal form of government is unfortunately required if you don't want to live in some Far West kinda word, in which you have to kill not to get killed. I was therefore long in favor of minarchism, so that we can all live peacefully with minimal government intervention.

It does not make much sense though, my neighbor might want a government that manages everything for him. He could move to another jurisdiction if he's not happy, but on what ground should he move? What makes this government more legitimate than another on any piece of land?
If you think about it, legitimacy is or was mostly claimed by force, a giant anarchist system in which states are playing. It does not make much sense...

People should be free to choose their government (or none) regardless of their location. It would most likely be rather chaotic at first, but inefficient government would eventually disappear with a global system of governments organically evolving, adapting to conditions, disappearing or being created.

I am now in favor of panarchism.
