I think many people in tech live and have lived a sheltered life that never required them to do anything outside of it (and their comfort zone). This does have massive impact on how they see the world, whose skills they think are redundant or worthless and what they think certain jobs actually are.
What we end up with is "chatbots instead of therapy", "no contact food delivery by exploited people" instead of shopping at a local store where you might actually get to know the people working there etc.
