The UK Ministry of Defence is facing a funding gap of around £17bn over the next ten years, the difference between the MoD's planned equipment procurement & the actual monies available in medium-term Govt. fiscal planning.
Seems the MoD hopes that a future Govt. will fill the gap by raising its budget to reach the aspiration of 2.5% GDP defence budget.
It might be better if the MoD took a look at the UK's standing & cut its cloth accordingly?
National defence yes, global reach, maybe not?
