"Data centers should be much more transparent about their impacts, and provide wide ranging information to localities including energy and water consumption, transmission or distribution needs, energy efficiency efforts, what type of backup generation facility plans to use, air quality impacts. Localities must be encouraged to consider all of these impacts as they consider approval, and not simply focused on the tax revenues that the facilities can bring to the locality."
