Thinking back on it, none of the friendships i've made on fedi started with anime, and most of them started through knowing a mutual friend. I've seen waldbrand and i think ryanman talk to you before so there's that.
Ironically anime isn't the best conversation starter around here, it's a bit too passive unless you're running a specific thread (i still need to do last weeks dandadan thread oops)
