The more proposals I hear about ways to style form controls, the more convinced I become that #CSS should be forbidden from touching anything inside form controls. You get the standard OS controls, in light and dark mode, and that’s *it*. You wanna change the size? Scale it. You wanna tint a slider green? Apply an SVG filter or something. But honestly, give users what they’re already used to seeing and leave it the hell alone.
This might just be me acting the court jester, but I doubt it.
