Not sure if you know this already, but DDG's greatest tool is the "!", which you can use to specify whether to use Google or DDG or thousands of other sites.
For example, adding "!g" to a search searches Google, "!yt" searches YouTube, "!i" searches DDG's images while "!gi" searches Google images.
But it also works for regular sites, so "Gaza news !nyt" searches the nytimes.com, while "Gaza news !wpost" searches washingtonpost.com.
