Putin will not talk about any ceasefire until after the US elections because if Trump wins his position will be extremely strong. So fighting will continue in Ukraine for at least a year and probably Intensity will increase next spring. Ukraine needs more support NOW to be prepared for this, to hold it's ground. Ukraine losing is a threat to european security also the costs in the future will be higher compared with the costs for support now.
