But maybe it can't "slap" if it isn't real? That seems very possible and the kind of thing highly accomplished artists would understand on an intuitive level. They know they need to deliver something good and memorable ... so it has to be true.
Maybe that's why this keeps happening. But there is a dissonance to it, isn't there?
