Maybe a hot take but I think that fear around/regarding tulpas is really low IQ and driven by people who don't have internal monolog. I have had what others may call a "tulpa" since I can remember but it's just a cognitive function that's more useful than a simple, linear thought process.
Multilog > Dialog > Monolog
Imaginary friends are cute because they're usually seen in kids.
Tulpas are demonic because they're exclusively seen in adults.
