Many years ago my medicine woman told me about it and I've used it ever since when I have it around. Thankfully my coop sold it where I used to live and also makes a nice soothing throat and lungs tincture for those challenged cold days. The chewing has same effects working with the medicine for the lungs and helping to breathe and sooth.
