This is interesting and I missed it until now - the new system of electing people to run the appraisal districts for property taxes in TX is giving us a weirdly timed election that nobody knows about. This is the TX GOP finding ways to screw with funding for cities, who do anti-GOP things to help residents. This state is a seriously fucked up place and it just keeps getting worse.
