Not sure what 'unmasking' means in your sentence... To get to know the condition? To me it helps seeing the whole thing as a managing of attention, —"as an spotlight lamp that illuminates through the dark void to be able to noticing things" paraphrasing Merleau-Ponty's—. However later it comes a question about what it has more right to drive, or direct our own attention, ourselves or the world?. That could be what an idea of the managing of attention could be about, to balance the how much I care about what *I have* to put attention to vs. what *I would like* to put my attention onto.

Meds could help noticing the difference, however that would be not enough to managing attention, it would be better to be clear about objectives of taking them as well as the planning to stop taking them. Hope it goes well for you; ¡qué estés bien!. 🤙
