Haelwenn /элвэн/ :triskell: (npub1ysu…2jyl) I saw a lot of people talking about how opt-out is illegal and almost as many people saying that opt-out _in this specific implementation_ wouldn't go against any privacy legislation
I honestly think opt-in makes the whole dataset pretty worthless. Depending on what lawyers experienced in this field said, I think they should have either done opt-out or interactively asked to enable or disable telemetry with no default and added a command line flag for opting one way or the other in automated systems
But the latter would break a _lot_ of things to the extent I'd say it's not feasible … so either opt-out or remain blind :flan_shrug:
