Weakening the state should be a priority no matter who is in power. The risk of the state being used as a weapon by authoritarians is just too high, and no amount of determined resistance is enough to overthrow an authoritarian state from within (it's hard to picture more determined resistance than the Syrian rev, but against a state that is willing to level cities and kill hundreds of thousands...)
I want to push for decentralization and autonomy now so that I'm not in hopeless conflicts in the future.
