As a (now retired) GP, I have long been well aware of the ethical implications of accepting unsolicited gifts ( https://www.gmc-uk.org/-/media/documents/gifts-and-hospitality-policy---dc8295-63782198.pdf ). When I see the eye-watering sums accepted by politicians with barely a shrug and with no shame, I am appalled. It is bribery, it is corrupt, it is intended to influence political decisions and it has to stop. Not a "Members' Register of Interests" - no gifts at all. If it's sauce for the goose (doctors), then it ought to be sauce for politicians.
