Retired accountant having worked in social housing here. Old houses usually sold at cost or a loss (as they should be when sold to long-time tenants, IMO). State still needs to provide funding for improvement of existing housing \u0026 building of new stock. Possibly less funding, I grant you, but even this is not a given as old houses may be sold off when the housing organisation needs cash to reduce its debt.",
