I’ve rarely shared much of my physical drawings online, the digital documentation only ever really asserts the image… and the image is usually such a small part of what I’m working through with them as objects

There’s clearly a more immediate sense to the photo and graphic work here, for obvious reasons… rendering in the same way (if not at the same scale or resolution) as I made it, without too much translation

But I do want to find ways to begin to record and share something of this new series of paper works, or at least fragments of them, as and however they develop… So I’ll keep trying

I’m calling and thinking about them as a series of ‘small dilemmas’, which can of course be taken as literally or poetically as anyone might choose or like

To thread them together, I’ll be using the tags #dilemma and #smalldilemmas on related notes… any of my visuals with those tags here will be part of this process, original, and hand drawn…

Working through what feels like it could be another ‘small dilemma’ here. I’ve been sharing the room with this one for a few days now, and we may finally be finding a way to get along…

I think my only real starting point for this series of drawings was a lack of both assumption and expectation…

And in all the space and possibilities that left open, it feels like some of these dirty little marked bits of paper are starting to assert a will of their own…
