NEWS | The BBC has removed the documentary Gaza: How to Survive a Warzone from its iPlayer service after it was revealed that the 13-year-old child narrator, Abdullah Al-Yazouri, is the son of Ayman Al-Yazouri, a deputy agricultural minister in Gaza’s government. The familial connection was not disclosed, prompting 45 pro-Israel journalists and media figures to demand its removal. The BBC said it is conducting “further due diligence” with the production company and will keep the program unavailable during the review.

The BBC acknowledged the film tells “important stories… experiences of children in Gaza” but cited “continuing questions” about the program in its decision.
