I wrote a reply to this yesterday and somehow managed to lose it… I agree about gigs, people will still check live music but that typically isn’t enough to sustain. The bigger gigs pay well as does touring but these gigs are inconsistent. I’ve friends who tour with big artists and when on the road it’s cool but there’s then periods writing/production etc. that might not bring any income for years if at all. It’s certainly a tough one and playing chase the algorithm isn’t a game I want to play, that’s essentially feudalism. Let’s see how things progress here… Good to meet you.
