Riparia would want Maniff to convince her of his honesty. Each time she believes him, he does something to make her wonder.
Despite aiding her, is he working for one of the other factions pursuing her? Is he leading her to safety or capture? Is he betraying the Keeper cause? Will he, in the end, break her heart—even if she has no reason to believe she’s in his?
