How did you all pick your #Mastodon instance? Was there any particular reasoning behind it?
For me I was looking for two things.
1) A regional instance in hopes that I could find more local connections and maybe help shape the community if I felt like being more involved.
I'm not here because I think Mastodon is better than other options. I don't think it is (yet). I like its potential so my decision to make this my main social media home is about tomorrow, not today.
2) The first letters of the domain could be typed with my left hand only so I could easily pull up the site without moving my right hand off of the mouse or track pad.
I do most of my social media when I'm waiting for something I'm working on to load and if I'm able to swap between tasks using just my left hand, I can peek and get back to work quickly.
